Iñupiaq numerals are a base-20 system invented at Harold Kavelook School in Qaaktuġvik in the early 90’s by middle school students and their teacher to better represent the Iñupiaq number system. The use of Iñupiaq numerals is spreading across Iñupiat Nunaat and Iñuit Nunaat today.
