New Words

 

Iñupiaq, like every language is a living and changing, which means we can add new words for foreign concepts to Iñupiaq and it stays Iñupiaq. Many Iñupiaq speakers over the years have developed new terminology, and you can find more information about these below.

Law Terms

This 1980 document was developed by the North Slope Borough and the former Iñupiat University to describe and translate legal terminology. Provided online by the Alaska Native Language Archive.

Supermarket
